About Heavyweight Jeans

MFRL's everyday denim, built from 543GSM heavyweight cotton (70% cotton, 28% polyester, 2% spandex) with a sun-faded wash and a regular straight fit made to last years.

WHAT GSM MEANS

GSM stands for grams per square meter — the weight of a single square meter of fabric. It's the most honest number on a garment. Price can be inflated and photography can be styled, but weight is measurable, and it tells you most of what you need to know about how a piece will feel, hang, and last.

THE SCALE

150 - 180

Standard retail t-shirt. Thin, drapes onto the body, translucent under direct light.

180 - 250

Mid-weight jersey. Comfortable everyday wear, no real structure.

250 - 320

Standard retail hoodie. What most brands are describing when they say heavyweight.

320 - 450

Genuine heavyweight. The fabric starts holding its own shape rather than yours.
